An intense early season storm tracked along the Mid-Atlantic and New England coasts during September 17 and 18. The storm dumped 2 to 4 inches of rain across Litchfield County. Strong winds and saturated soil resulted in several downed trees in Litchfield County. Several trees and lines were downed in Torrington and a large tree was blown down in Litchfield.
