Strong thunderstorms moved across the northern portions of Prowers county the night of the 25th and into the early morning hours of the 26th. An 8 mile stretch of Highway 196 was water-covered, and normally dry washes were running full.

Strong thunderstorms moved across the northern portions of Prowers county the night of the 25th and into the early morning hours of the 26th. An 8 mile stretch of Highway 196 was water-covered, and normally dry washes were running full. Rainfall reports ranged from 2 1/4 inches in Lamar to 4 3/4 inches 20 miles south of the town of Holly.
