A strong 958mb low moved northward to 400 miles south of Cordova late Wednesday. The low then began to weaken and turn northeast Thursday morning.

A strong 958mb low moved northward to 400 miles south of Cordova late Wednesday. The low then began to weaken and turn northeast Thursday morning. Northeast wind gusts reached 75 mph at Wasilla and 55 mph at the Palmer airport. 7,000 homes were without power for up to 12 hours. Cars were dented and several trees were downed. The same storm brought northwest wind gusts of 56 mph to Kodiak.
