Several trees blown down by small but intense thunderstorm. Heavy rain temporarily clogged a number of city storm drains which caused minor flooding of low lying areas.

Thunderstorms in Halifax County during the evening hours on the 16th produced damaging lightning and winds. Thunderstorm winds knocked a large tree across a road in Turbeville and downed trees on route 659, two and one-half miles west of South Boston and on route 58, one mile west of Riverdale. Lightning destroyed a transformer one mile west of Riverdale.
