A severe thunderstorm over the West Branch of the Susquehanna River caused wind damage on both sides of the river. It downed trees and wires in Gregg Township and Watsontown.
Severe thunderstorms caused wind damage in eastern Perry County. The hardest hit townships were Ickesburg, Landisburg and Newport.

A complex of severe thunderstorms intensified as it moved across the Lower Susquehanna Valley. In York County wind damage was reported in all areas, except the extreme southeast. Wind damage occurred from Dillsburg southeast to Red Lion. In Winterstown the frame of a home under construction was bent sideways. The most damage occurred in the southwest part of the county in Fairview, Hanover, Heidelberg, Penn and West Manheim. In York, trash cans were flying through the streets. About 13,000 customers in Adams and York Counties lost power because of downed trees and power lines. Besides the wind, intense cloud to ground lightning sparked barn and house fires in Springettsbury, Stewartstown and West Manheim.

Falling trees damaged twenty-five cars. The golf concession on City Island was destroyed. Fallen trees blocked thirty-four streets. At least two trees fell on houses. The fencing on the Walnut Street Bridge was damaged. The cupola 160 feet above the ground on the Payne Shoemaker Building was left leaning at a 45-degree angle. They removed it a couple of days later. Wind damage was not confined to Harrisburg. Near Middletown the two story high, 80-feet long cinder block wall of the Kunkel Elementary School addition was flattened. Numerous trees were downed in Hershey and Hummelstown and blocked at least two roads. About 40,000 Pennsylvania Power and Light customers lost power in Dauphin and Lancaster Counties.

Thousands were left without power in Wilkes-Barre as a combination of high winds and lightning strikes tore down trees and power lines.
A complex of severe thunderstorms caused tree and property damage in almost every township in the county. County wide damage estimate was around $1 million. The hardest hit areas included Clay, Ephrata, Elizabethtown, Lititz, Manheim, Rapho, Warwick and West Donegal. The severe thunderstorm blew the roofs from four houses, two in Ephrata. Several homes in Lititz suffered structural damage. Barns near Manheim lost their siding. A 100-foot oak tree crushed a home in Warwick Township. More than a dozen major roads were closed by fallen trees. A vehicle was blown 10 feet off the road in Manor Township. Numerous trees were reported uprooted in Quarryville. About 36,000 Pennsylvania Power and Light (PPL) customers lost power in the county. This represented its largest power outage in five years. This complex of severe thunderstorms left 87,300 PPL customers or seven percent of its 29 county service area in the dark in Eastern Pennsylvania.
A complex of severe thunderstorms caused wind damage in southeast Chester County. Hardest hit was New Garden Township. Almost every road south of Pennsylvania State Route 41 was impassable because of downed trees and power lines. Several trees fell on homes. In Avondale a house wall was blown out. Fallen trees closed 15 roads in Franklin Township. About 62,000 Philadelphia Electric Company (PECO) customers lost power, with 38,000 that occurred in Chester County. The lost power caused crop damage to several mushroom homes.
Two separate severe thunderstorms caused wind damage in Delaware County. They caused widely scattered reports of downed trees and power lines throughout the county. This accounted for much of the remaining 24,000 Philadelphia Electric Company customers that lost power.
