A severe thunderstorm tore down large tree limbs within Allentown. One badly dented a car roof. The damaging winds also pulled down wires in nearby South Whitehall Township. The combination of high winds and lightning strikes caused 5,600 Pennsylvania Power and Light Customers to lose power, 4,400 within the Allentown area.
