Severe thunderstorms developed in southeast Oklahoma during the late afternoon of May 24th. A tornado touched down just northwest of McAlester at 1640CST and remained nearly stationary until lifting at 1650CST. This F0 tornado damaged a dairy barn and was apparently a "landspout" type tornado which formed within a developing rainshower. Golf ball-size hail fell two miles south of Keota, and dime-size hail fell five miles east of Keota and at Spiro.
