A short lived tornado touched down along the St Mary's Countyshoreline northwest of Patuxent River Naval Air Station. Several eyewitnesses noted a funnel near the base shortly before touchdown (1958 EST). Power was temporarily knocked out in Hollywood, close to where the tornado apparently touched down. No damage was reported.

A squall line of severe thunderstorms moved from southwest to northeast across the Maryland eastern shore. The thunderstorms caused widely scattered reports of uprooted trees and downed power lines throughout the counties.
