A man standing in a machine shed witnessed a small tornado move across his farm. The eaves were torn off his house and insulation was sucked out of the attic. Trees were damaged. A propane tank was blown into the side of the machine shed. Another nearby farm had nine trees uprooted and several farm outbuildings damaged. A large grain shed was destroyed.

Thunderstorm winds estimated between 60 and 80 mph produced numerous areas of damage as they plowed across parts of the two state region. An empty tractor semitralier was blown off of highway 20 just east of Freeport. In Mount Carroll 70 foot trees were uprooted, windows blown out of buildings and power poles snapped off at the ground.
