A severe thunderstorm uprooted trees in Mount Bethel and North Bangor. Some blocked Pennsylvania State Route 512 near its intersection with Pennsylvania State Route 611. In addition to the damaging winds, lightning struck the steeple of a church in Johnsonville and proceeded along an electrical line causing fire damage along a 15 foot stretch of the sanctuary roof.
