A hot, moist and unstable airmass lead to another round of thunderstorms and a variety of severe weather during the afternoon. Strong winds downed numerous trees and power lines and lightning strikes generated several fires that caused substantial damage. Torrential rains lead to significant street and highway flooding in some locations.
