Athens was one of the hardest hit areas with almost every street in town closed due to downed trees and wires. Other hard hit areas included East Towanda, Milan, Sayre, Shesquin and Windham. Most of northeastern Bradford County was without power for several hours.

Thunderstorm winds uprooted numerous trees in Mifflinburg. In addition, a male disc jockey was shocked and injured when lightning struck the WWBE-FM transmission tower. The lightning traveled to the station's control board. Some of the station's equipment was damaged and it was off the air for about one hour.

Severe thunderstorms toppled numerous trees and power lines throughout the county including Shamokin Island. Damage was so severe in Sunbury that a state of emergency was declared. In Sunbury a twenty foot section of a metal corrugated roof at the old K and L Hotel was ripped off. In Coal Township a family was homeless after a 70 feet tree smashed into their home. In Dornsife, the roof was blown off a porch. Many roads were impassable because of fallen trees. The worst ones included Pennsylvania State Route 405 south of Lewisburg, State Route 54 between Elysburg and Danville and Front, Julia and Walnut Streets within Sunbury. Eleven thousand Pennsylvania, Power and Light customers lost power throughout the Middle Susquehanna Valley with the bulk within Northumberland County.

Damage was reported in East Petersburg, Landsville, Leola, Manheim Township, Maytown, Marietta, Millersville, Mount Joy, Neffsville and New Holland. Dime-size hail also fell in New Holland. A lightning strike on its satellite dish silenced WROZ-FM and WLPM-AM for a short while. About 15,000 Pennsylvania, Power and Light customers lost power and it took until the afternoon of the 7th to get the last 1,350 back on line.
