September 25, 1958, 09:05:36 local time, Northeast of Lingshan, Guangxi Province, 22.5 N, 109.5 E, depth 3 km, magnitude 5.75, intensity VII.

Sucun Village: A few houses collapsed, brick walls partly collapsed, most of the mud and brick walls cracked. Fissures occurred in ground, with the emergence of springs. On the Daling Hill at Liuta, a fissure occurred 300 m long and 10- 20 cm wide. One side of the foundation of a stone arch bridge sunk.

Beizhuang ViIlage: 80% of houses in the whole village

cracked more than 1 m long and 2-3 cm wide. 15 rooms of houses collapsed. The ground fissured in many places, and spring waters became turbid with a decrease in flow.

More than 10 villages around County seat of Lingshan

were destroyed in varying degrees, such as in Shiniukou

Village, almost all the houses cracked. 2 rooms of houses collapsed, and ground sunk down in 10 places or more. In Longguang ViIlage, one brick wall was twisted, more than 10 walls collapsed. Some walls cracked. In Tangwei ViIlage,

most houses were destroyed, a few collapsed, and walls cracked. In Dongxin ViIlage, 2 mud walls collapsed, mud houses were all damaged. In most parts of the county seat, shock was felt and roof-tiles were clashing.

The shock was felt at Guixian, Yongning, Bobai, Hengxian, Yulin, Binyang, Rongxian, Hepu and Qinxian in Guangxi Province; Lianjiang in Guangdong Province.
