June 7, 1947, 13:05:00 local time, East of Huidong, Sichuan Province, 26.7 N, 102.9 E, magnitude 5.5, intensity VII.
In Tangtang, several houses had all their roof-tiles
shaken off. Most houses were tilted by shaking, some dozens of old houses collapsed. Deeply weathered rocks collapsed. The ground cracked with ejection of red waters. 2 persons were killed.
Dongchuan: Few gables collapsed. Rocks rolled downhill along the banks of the Jinsha River. One person was killed.
