What the record says

NCEI’s account, from the sources it cites.

1909 February 19, Ethiopia. An earthquake shock was felt in Djibouti at 6.0 a.m. local time. Due to a misprint in a Yemeni chronicle, the earthquake is often associated with a damaging earthquake at Wainan in Yemen. However, the earthquake in question is actually the Gulf of Corinth event of 30 May 1909, and the Yemeni shock should be deleted from catalogues (reference #3845)
