March 10, 1833, about 22:00 [local time]. There was a strong earthquake at Acapulco. Mild oscillations lasting about 1 1/2 minutes were felt at Mexico City. The sea retreated 12 m (40 feet) and quietly returned to its initial position. (reference #415)
