The 6 November 1774 mainshock caused moderate-to severe damage to the building stock of several communities (Table 2). Most severely damaged was the village of Azqueltan.In Colotlan and Bolanos, the mainshock caused widespread construction damage. In both towns, the parish churches were beyond repair, but not one building collapsed. Damage similar to the one in Colotlan was reported from communities all over the Fronteras de Colotlan region.
