Winds gusts to 50 to 60 mph will be possible along with hail ranging from nickels to quarters. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible across the southern mountains today, including the Aspen Acres burn scar. If a strong storm should develop over the burn scar, then flash flooding could occur, especially over the central part of the burn scar. Elevated fire weather conditions will be possible along the Continental Divide today. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday Elevated fire weather conditions will be possible along the Continental Divide through the rest of this week. These elevated fire weather conditions will then be possible across parts of the plains this upcoming weekend. Temperatures will once again become hot by Friday and last into the weekend. Readings in the 100s will be likely across a good part of the plains Friday through Monday. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... ...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTH CENTRAL RIO GRANDE AND
SOUTH CENTRAL SAGUACHE COUNTIES THROUGH 230 PM MDT...
At 152 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 10
miles west of La Garita, or 41 miles northwest of Alamosa, moving
east at 10 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of north central Rio
Grande and south central Saguache Counties.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
