CANCELLED...

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning has been cancelled. However, gusty winds are 
still possible with this thunderstorm.

 - Strong storms are possible this afternoon with gusty downburst
   winds being the main threat.

 - Moderate risk of rip currents Tuesday and Wednesday for
   coastal Alabama and northwest Florida beaches.

 - Peak heat index increases to around 105-107 this afternoon with
   the Heat Risk remaining in the Moderate to Major category.

Storms are finally beginning to develop inland as of 19Z after
convection lingered along the coastline throughout the morning
hours. This afternoon will have another round of scattered storms
dropping in from the north featuring ample instability, minimal/non-
existent shear, and ample dry air aloft. Some strong storms are
possible late this afternoon into the early evening hours with the
predominant threat being gusty downburst winds given the dry air
aloft noted in the soundings. Convection should steadily wane
after sunset, although a few storms may linger into the late
evening hours.

As we head into the overnight hours and tomorrow, the ridge aloft
nudges deeper into the Southeast. This pattern shift will allow our
dry-ish northerly flow aloft to turn easterly through mid-week.
Flow aloft turns onshore on Thursday as the ridge gets flattened
by a trough pivoting into the East Coast. Meanwhile, a parade of
subtle shortwaves pivot across the region throughout the week in
this pattern, which will lead to a somewhat higher coverage in
showers and storms each afternoon in the middle to latter half of
the week. This slightly more active diurnal convective pattern
will keep daytime highs in check with no extreme heat concerns
through the remainder of the week.

Beach Forecast - LOW rip current risk continues through tonight
before increasing to a MODERATE risk tomorrow through Wednesday for
coastal Alabama and northwest Florida beaches. The risk falls to LOW
for the remainder of the week. 07/mb

THROUGH 430 PM CDT...

At 347 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 9 miles northwest of Pine Apple to 4 miles
southwest of I65 And US 84 to McCullough. Movement was southwest at
10 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Monroeville, Evergreen, Camden, Frisco City, McCullough, Peterman,
Uriah, Castleberry, Excel, Beatrice, Vredenburgh, Repton, Pine Apple,
I65 And US 84, I65 And AL 113, and I65 And AL 21.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
