...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 430 AM CDT FOR
SOUTHEASTERN JASPER AND WEST CENTRAL CLARKE COUNTIES...

At 417 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located over Barnett, or 13 miles west of Quitman, moving
southeast at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage 
         to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is 
         likely.

This dangerous storm will be near...
  Stafford Springs around 425 AM CDT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

...THE TORNADO WARNING FOR SOUTHEASTERN JASPER AND WEST CENTRAL
CLARKE COUNTIES WILL EXPIRE AT 430 AM CDT...

The tornado threat has diminished and the Tornado Warning has been 
cancelled. However, damaging winds remain likely and a Severe 
Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect for the area. 

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
Jackson.

This Weekend...

An overnight MCS is still making its way out of the Delta region and
remains the primary focus in the immediate short term, wind is the
primary threat although hail can not be ruled out, through this
afternoon. MCS is expected to overturn the environment, however some
hi-res guidance hints at development in central Mississippi
tomorrow.  Primary concern will be the sturdy moisture channel that
intersects with this latent energy, a southward progression of the
next convective system later tonight from southeast Oklahoma can not
be ruled out.

Tomorrow into next week, the pattern looks to remain active, as
mentioned. Remnant outflow boundaries stretched out in the region
will remain the focus for renewed development of convection, but the
key will be triggering of new upstream convection in the Southern
Plains and possible MCS development spreading into our area as a
result. The next focus for watching will be a potential MCS later
tomorrow night, which currently warrants a Marginal Risk for severe
storms extending into northeast LA and southeast AR before sunrise
Sunday and expanding to the rest of the area into the day Sunday.
Thunderstorm chances remain in place through Friday across our
region, which as mentioned, has the potential to be strong to severe
if timed out favorably with heating and the passage of upper-level
disturbances over the region. Residents should remain alert to
changes in forecasted impacts over the next several days. /NF/OAJ/

As of 0534Z, GWO, GTR, and GLH are currently reporting VFR
conditions. Poor flying conditions will persist across most TAF
sites through the overnight period due to rain, storms and a low
stratus cloud deck. Low stratus/light rain will persist into
Saturday morning leading to a mix of MVFR/IFR/possible LIFR
conditions. Ceilings will remain low through Saturday morning with
conditions improving to VFR conditions across the area by
Saturday afternoon. VFR ceilings will persist through Saturday
evening. Ceilings will lower to MVFR/IFR status by 11Z Sunday.

         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.
