...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 930 PM EDT FOR
SOUTHEASTERN LICKING COUNTY...

At 918 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located 7 miles east of Thornport, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage 
         to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is 
         likely.

Locations impacted include...
Gratiot and Brownsville.

This includes I-70 in Ohio between mile markers 134 and 142, and near
mile marker 144.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a

930 PM EDT...

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits
and has exited the warned area. Therefore, the warning will be
allowed to expire.

1) Hot today, cooler the next couple of days, and then warming again
into early next week.

2) A system will bring thunderstorms to the region today into
Thursday. This will bring the potential for severe weather this
afternoon into the evening hours and a flood potential Wednesday
night into Thursday. Additional thunderstorms possible Friday into
Saturday.

.DISCUSSION...
KEY MESSAGE 1)
Hot conditions will be present today with highs in the upper 80s to
lower 90s. Some heat index values will be around 100. Cooler
temperatures are expected the next couple of days with cloud cover,
cooler air, and precipitation. Temperatures will gradually start to
rise over the weekend and into next week.

KEY MESSAGE 2)
Thunderstorms will work into the region this afternoon into the
evening hours. Some of these storms will have the potential to be
severe with damaging winds the primary threat. Thunderstorms will
linger into the night, however expect some decrease in activity for a
period overnight. Another surge of moisture will work into the region
on Thursday bringing additional showers and thunderstorms. The
heaviest precipitation amounts on Thursday are expected to be across
the southern half of the forecast area. Will have to watch for the
potential for multiple thunderstorms moving across the area
especially across southern portions of the region and the potential
for flash flooding. Confidence was not high enough however to go with
a flood watch.

Additional showers and storms will be possible on Friday, primarily
across southern portions of the region. Coverage works northward
Friday night into Saturday.

.AVIATION /00Z THURSDAY THROUGH MONDAY/...
Mid level shortwave to pass thru the Great Lakes with an associated
surface cold front sagging slowly south into the Ohio Valley
overnight into Thursday. Surface dew points in the lower and middle
70s has resulted in moderate instability ahead of a pre-frontal
surface trof that was pushing into the I-70 corridor. Expect
scattered storms to continue to develop into a broken line that
affects the TAF sites this evening. DCAPE values of 800 to 1000 J/KG
suggests that some of these storms may contain gusty to damaging
winds. Have tempo groups in the TAf sites to account for these
evening storms. Expect a generally lull in pcpn later this evening
into the overnight hours. A signal for MVFR to possible IFR ceilings
exists for late tonight into Thursday morning. Have limited mention
to MVFR restrictions at this time. Additional showers and
thunderstorms develop Thursday as the front sags into the area. The
best coverage of storms looks to affect the southern TAF sites.

 OUTLOOK...MVFR ceilings and visibilities possible into Friday
morning. Additional thunderstorms possible on Saturday.
