northwest Kansas.

A Heat Advisory is in effect for locations east of Highway 83 today
until 8 PM CT. Heat indices of up to 106 degrees are expected.

Scattered thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening.
Winds gusts up to 65 mph and 1.5 inch hail are the primary threats
could occur with any storms.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...

Scattered thunderstorms return over the weekend. Potential hazards
include hail larger than 1 inch and wind gusts over 60 mph.

Scattered areas of briefly critical fire weather are possible this
afternoon in eastern Colorado.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.

...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN THOMAS AND
NORTHWESTERN SHERIDAN COUNTIES THROUGH 315 AM CDT...

At 239 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Rexford, or 17 miles northwest of Hoxie, moving east at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of northeastern Thomas
and northwestern Sheridan Counties.
