...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN GREENUP COUNTY
THROUGH 1115 AM EDT...

At 1050 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Vanceburg, or 17 miles northwest of Carter Caves State Park, moving
east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Letitia, Load, South Shore, Brushart, and South Portsmouth.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

Letitia, or 8 miles southwest of Portsmouth, moving east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Portsmouth, Greenup, Load, Letitia, Franklin Furnace, South Shore,
