...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT EASTERN CHIPPEWA AND
NORTHWESTERN RENVILLE COUNTIES THROUGH 200 PM CDT...

At 140 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Maynard, or 13 miles east of Montevideo, moving northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Granite Falls, Clara City, Maynard, Minnesota Falls, and Gluek.

This includes U.S. Highway 212 between mile markers 52 and 55.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in the Twin Cities.

COUNTIES THROUGH 245 PM CDT...

At 200 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 7 miles north of Brooten to 5 miles north of
Sacred Heart. Movement was northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Willmar, Sauk Centre, Clara City, New London, Raymond, Kerkhoven,
Brooten, Belgrade, Prinsburg, Maynard, Pennock, and Norway Lake.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 94 in Minnesota between mile markers 121 and 133.
 U.S. Highway 12 between mile markers 56 and 75.
 U.S. Highway 71 between mile markers 115 and 123, and between mile
markers 125 and 172.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
