Gentle SW flow accompanied by clearing skies and modest dewpoints
in the upper 50s/low 60s tonight may allow for patchy fog
development over portions of the interior early tomorrow morning.
Went ahead and added an area of patchy fog from 4-8am EST.
Another round of showers and isolated thunderstorms will be
possible tomorrow. The Storm Prediction Center has southeastern
coastal portions of South Florida in a marginal risk for severe
thunderstorms, primarily due to strong/damaging wind gusts and
perhaps severe hail (>= 1 inch in diameter). Whether or not this
unfolds will greatly depend on how the mesoscale environment
evolves over the next 12-16 hours. As of now, it does appear that
sufficient CAPE will be in place to perhaps support a few robust
updrafts, and thus a few overachieving storms that may impact
metropolitan portions of the east coast tomorrow morning possibly
into the early afternoon. Activity will wane as the day passes,
and winds will transition out of the NW by the evening as a cold
front approaches the region.

Rest Of This Afternoon... The squall line will continue to move
eastward through Palm Beach County and into the Atlantic Waters
through rest of this afternoon. This will allow for the weather
become dry over South Florida for rest of this afternoon except for
the Atlantic waters.
Tonight Into Monday... The mid to upper level low over the
Southeastern United States will move southwest tonight and over the
Lake Okeechobee region on Monday. At the same time, the surface low
will also move southwest tonight and over the northern portion of
South Florida on Monday.
This weather pattern will allow for some drier air to work into the
region this afternoon into tonight before some more moisture works
into the region with the surface and mid to upper level lows.
Therefore, showers and some thunderstorms will return to South
Florida on Monday starting over the west coast in the early early
morning hours before moving east northeast across the region and
into the eastern areas by late morning into the afternoon hours.
There will also mid to upper level jet moving over South Florida on
Monday as the 500MB temperatures getting down to -18C to -20C.
These 500MB temps are very cold for this time of year over South
Florida where the 500MB average is around -10C. The dew points will
also remain in the 60s over the region with highs getting into the
lower to mid 70s. These conditions should allow for a few storms to
become strong to even severe over portions of South Florida on
Monday. The primary impacts from the strongest storms will be mainly
hail, gusty winds, and lightning strikes. SPC has also put southern
portions of South Florida in a Marginal Risk of Severe weather for
Monday.

The cut-off mid-level low will exit the region Monday night
through Tuesday with drier air entering in its wake. High pressure
builds back over the eastern third of the continent by mid-week. A
front late week will attempt to push southeastward into Florida
but will lose the upper level support and stall. Since high
pressure will hold over the area during this time, South Florida
should see a dry end to the week.
Overnight lows will dip into the 50s on Tuesday, Wednesday, and
Thursday mornings with some 40s sneaking into Southwest Florida on
Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Temperatures begin to moderate by
Friday morning as most areas warm several degrees compared to
previous morning. The abundant sunshine will help daytime highs
reach the 70s except for Tuesday.

VFR to start the 06Z TAF period. Light SW winds early this
morning. SCT showers and thunderstorms expected during the day,
peaking from mid morning through early afternoon. Sub-VFR ceilings
and visbys are possible during periods of heavy rain. Erratic
winds are also possible in or near thunderstorms. Winds late in
the period become W/NW and increase to 10-15 kts. Some MVFR
ceilings are possible late tonight, started to trend down late in
the period with this issuance.

The winds will remain southwest to west tonight into Monday over
South Florida with speeds 10 to 15 knots. The winds will then swing
to a northerly direction For Tuesday into Wednesday as the speeds
increase to windy over most areas with even the Atlantic waters
getting up to gale force conditions.
The seas in the Gulf waters will also increase from 2 to 4 feet this
afternoon to 4 to 7 feet by Monday afternoon. The Gulf Seas will
continue to building to 7 to 10 feet by Tuesday before slowly
subsiding to 2 to 4 feet by Wednesday night. The Atlantic seas will
2 to 4 feet tonight into Monday before building quickly to 7 to 9
feet by Tuesday. The Atlantic waters will continue to build quickly
Tuesday evening and be at 13 to 16 feet by late Tuesday night. The
Atlantic seas will then slowly subside on Wednesday and Wednesday
night and be at 5 to 7 feet by Thursday.
Therefore, SCA will be up from Monday afternoon through Wednesday
morning for the Gulf waters. There will also be an SCA up for the
Lake Okeechobee and Biscayne Bay waters from Monday night through
Wednesday morning. The Atlantic waters will have an SCA up for
Monday evening before a Gale Watch runs from Monday night through
WEdnesday morning.

The threat of rip currents should continue for the east coast and
west coast beaches of South Florida through at least middle of this
week. However, the threat should increase to high for Tuesday and
possibly on Wednesday with the increase in winds and seas.
There could also be large breaking waves along the east coast
beaches of South Florida Tuesday into Tuesday night and along the
west coast beaches of South Florida on Tuesday. Will continue to
monitor this and could need a High Surf Advisory for both Beaches
sometime on Monday for Tuesday and Tuesday night.
