            of downed trees across Polk County. Duke
            Energy reports a couple hundred customers
            without power near White Oak Mountain Rd in
            the Stearns community and near Skyuka Rd
            just west of Columbus. Additional power
            outages were reported further east near Bill
            Collins Rd and Smith Waldrop Rd SSE of Mill
            Spring. Time estimated from radar.

NORTHWESTERN ELBERT AND SOUTHWESTERN HART COUNTIES THROUGH 715 PM
EDT...

At 629 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles southeast of Carnesville, or near Franklin Springs, moving east
at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea to dime size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Carnesville, Hartwell, Royston, Bowman, Canon, Franklin Springs,
Victoria Bryant State Park, Dewy Rose, Nuberg, and Vanna.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning will occur with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for
northeastern Georgia.
