* WHAT...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, up to one foot of 
  inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near 
  shorelines and tidal waterways. For the Beach Hazards 
  Statement, dangerous rip currents.

* WHERE...For the Beach Hazards Statement, area beaches north of
  Cape Lookout. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, all of East 
  Carteret County.

* WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, until 8 PM EDT Tuesday. 
  For the Beach Hazards Statement, through Saturday evening.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated
  road closures expected. Rip currents can sweep even the best 
  swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong king tide cycle in combination with
  southerly winds will lead to increased water levels lasting into
  early next week. Water levels will rise through the upcoming
  high tide cycles, peaking Monday night and Tuesday night before

.SYNOPSIS...
A surface trough will gradually lift north and dissipate
tonight with moist southeast flow bringing scattered showers
through Saturday. Drier and warmer weather with only isolated
showers or storms are expected Sunday through early next week.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
As of 645 PM Fri...An elongated upper low centered over the
southeast will gradually lift north and open into an negatively
tilted trough late tonight while a sfc coastal trough slowly
pushes inland and dissipates. Good upper level support for lift
continues with ENC near the left exit region of the jet off the
southeast coast along with southerly flow advecting in plenty of
moisture with PW values around 1.5". Scattered showers and
thunderstorms continue early this eve as breaks in the clouds
have allowed instability to increase to around 1000-2000 J/kg.
Bulk Shear remains meager around 20-30 kt so not expected storms
to reach severe limits but they could produce brief heavy
downpours. Most storms should dissipate through the evening as
SB CAPE decreases and low level CIN increases with loss of sfc
heating but isolated thunderstorms remain possible overnight as
mid/upper level instability remains, especially near the coast.
Light winds and plenty of low level moisture in place for fog
and low stratus to redevelop across much of the area tonight.
Temps will remain mild with lows mainly in the mid 60s. Adjusted
previous forecast slightly based on current trends.

.SHORT TERM /SATURDAY/...
As of 345 PM Fri...Unsettled weather continues Sat as the upper
trough lifts north across the area and into the Mid- Atlantic
and moist S to SE low level flow continuing to feed into ENC. PW
values remain around 1.5" with instability increasing to around
1500-2000 J/Kg in the afternoon to bring scattered showers and
thunderstorms once again but shear remains limited to allow
storms from becoming severe. Pred SSE flow throughout the day
will allow temps to warm several degrees with highs expected in
the low to mid 80s inland to mid to upper 70s along the coast.

.LONG TERM /SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/...
As of 345 AM Friday...General troughing over SE CONUS lifts N
continues the wet pattern through the early weekend. Cold
fronts approach and eventually cross the FA early next week.
Ridging returns mid to late week.

Sat night and Sun...Precip becomes more diurnal in nature, more
akin to summer-time precip set ups with convection focusing
offshore overnight Sat, beings to taper off through the weekend
as the low exits the region. Have sped up the transition to
drier weather on the latter half of the weekend. Temps continue
to warm, Highs in the mid to upper 80s Sun lows in the low to
mid 60s.

Next Week...Flow aloft becomes more zonal as the base of the
trough pivots E and pushes offshore ECONUS. A series of primary
and reinforcing cold fronts impact the FA early next week.
Monday a weak cold front approaches the region from the NW but
loses momentum before reaching the FA, washing out as it crosses
the area overnight. Tuesday night, a backdoor front drops
through the FA overnight with the Nerly surge following during
the day Wednesday. With WAA ahead of the front Monday, warming
trend continues with highs in the upper 80s, warmest in the SW.
There remains uncertainty with how well the fronts hold together
and the progression of a SFC ridge developing further W over
Sern CONUS. Will continue carrying SChc to Chc diurnal
showers/thunder through the early week. Temps continue to warm
but deterministic Highs vary model to model with differing
solutions for aforementioned ridging and cloud/shower coverage.
Have trended on the cooler side of guidance for highs Wed in the
wake of the fronts.

.AVIATION /00Z SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
SHORT TERM /Through Saturday/...
As of 645 PM AM Fri...Mix of VFR and MVFR conditions currently
across the sites. Light winds and plenty of low level moisture
in place for fog/stratus to redevelop across most areas tonight
but guidance is still not in best agreement. SSE flow with mo
cloudy skies is not always the best set up for widespread fog
and periods of showers may also disrupt development, all which
leads to lower confidence of occurrence, but do think periods of
sub-VFR conditions are likely, either with patchy fog or
showers. Best chance of IFR likely at PGV and ISO, though all
sites could see IFR and/or LIFR. Pred VFR expected to return by
late morning and afternoon Sat with scattered showers and storms
bringing occasional sub-VFR conditions.

LONG TERM /Saturday night through Wednesday/...
As of 400 AM Friday...Early morning patchy fog cannot be ruled
out for regional terminals with added SFC moisture from rainfall
and winds calming Sat night. Conditions begin improving again
Sunday once the low aloft and SFC trough push N of the FA.
Predominantly VFR flight cats expected through early next week.

.MARINE...
SHORT TERM /through Saturday/...
As of 645 PM Fri...A sfc trough will push inland overnight with
SE winds around 10-15 kt becoming sly on Saturday. Seas around
4-6 ft northern/central waters and 2-5 ft southern waters
continue overnight but subside slightly Sat morning before a SE
trade swell begins to builds see back to 4-6 ft across the
central and southern waters Sat afternoon and evening. Continue
the SCA for the central waters through Sat night for seas up to
6 ft and have hoisted as SCA south of Ocracoke starting early
Sat evening through late Sat night with seas building to 6 ft
across the outer waters.

LONG TERM /Saturday night through Monday/...
As of 400 AM Friday...Serly flow 10-15kt Sat with seas mostly
4-5ft with 6ft lingering longest for central waters E of
Hatteras into Saturday night. Best conditions over the weekend
Sunday with S/SWerly winds 10-15kt, 3-4ft seas, and decreasing
precip chances. SWerly winds increase to 15-20kt and seas build
back to 4-5ft Monday ahead of an approaching cold front.

.TIDES/COASTAL FLOODING...
As of 430 PM Fri...ENC is entering a high astronomical tide
cycle assoc with the full moon this coming Monday. King Tides
in combination with sely trade swells will bring elevated water
levels across coastal areas through Tuesday with water levels
up to 1-2 ft above ground near the water front during times of
high tide. A Coastal Flood Advisory has been issued for coastal
zones from the Northern OBX south to Coastal Onslow County.
