Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are forming along the foothills of western Virginia and North Carolina, and will spread across the watch area this afternoon. Very hot/humid conditions will help storms become intense, with damaging winds and hail possible in the strongest cells. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60 statute miles east and west of a line from 10 miles southeast of Greensboro NC to 45 miles north of Richmond VA.
