* IMPACTS...At this level, widespread roadway flooding occurs
along tidal waterways. Some roads become impassable. Minor
damage to vulnerable structures may begin to occur.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Water levels are expected to rise to
levels very close to or just over the threshold of moderate
tidal flooding with this evening's high tide. Additional
flooding is expected with subsequent high tides on Sunday but
the impacts should be less as minor flooding is expected at
this time.

.SYNOPSIS...
A large area of low pressure will remain in place across the
eastern US today then pass north across New England toward Quebec
on Sunday. High pressure will build slowly into the region through
next week locking a cool and dry airmass across the area through
the end of the week. A weak disturbance will move over the
region Tuesday night.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
The potential for gusty winds and heavy rain has ended in our region.
A complex mid level low was located over West Virginia and vicinity
early this morning. The feature will lift northward, reaching New
York State tonight.
At the surface, an occluded front extended eastward from low
pressure in Ohio to a secondary low is eastern Pennsylvania during
the predawn hours. The lows are expected to fill as another low
develops off the Middle Atlantic coast today. It should strengthen
as it moves into New England tonight.
The overall pattern will likely maintain a mostly cloudy sky over
much of our region for today and tonight. However, we may continue
to see some clearing over southern Delaware, southeastern New Jersey
and the adjacent waters this morning.
Once the early morning showers over eastern Pennsylvania and
northern New Jersey lift to our north, the potential for rain is
anticipated to diminish for much of today in our region. A short
wave rotating around the mid level low is forecast to pass overhead
tonight. The short wave in combination with the low off the coast
may result in an increasing chance of showers for a time tonight,
especially in New Jersey.
Today's high temperatures are expected to favor the 60s with the
wind settling into the southeast and south at 5 to 10 MPH. Tonight's
lows should be mostly in the upper 40s and lower 50s with a light
and variable wind.
The Flood Watch for Morris County has been cancelled. Fortunately,
the rain that occurred on Friday was not enough to result in any
additional river flooding.

.SHORT TERM /SUNDAY THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT/...
The last precipitation associated with the departing storm will be
across the northern areas Sunday morning with some slight chcs pops
in the grids for that period. Improvement will continue Sunday as
high pressure starts to build over the area and drier air arrives.
Highs Sunday will still be a bit above normal with low/mid 60s for
the area. Overall, a decent day for the end of October. Skies will
be cloudy early (especially for the southern Poconos and northern
NJ), but then become partly sunny by afternoon. Winds will be mostly
west at 10 to 15 mph.

.LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/...
Temperatures that will run well below normal for several days may be
the more interesting trend in the longer range part of the forecast.
Highs on Monday will be near normal with highs in the low/mid 60s
for the S/E areas while readings won't exceed the mid/upper 50s for
the N/W areas. A cold front will cross the area later Monday so
cooler and dry air from the Great Lakes will arrive across our
region. Temperatures for the rest of the week will only top out in
the 40s (N/W) and 50s (S/E). These readings will be 5 to 10 degrees
below normal. Lows will be in the 30s most days with some low 40s
for Delmarva and near the shore.
Precipitation will only settle around two periods with high pressure
in control most of the week. The first time of (potential) rains
will be Tuesday evening and overnight with a weak low pressure areas
and cold front moving across the region. Both the CMC/GFS 00Z models
have some QPF depicted for our area. We will just have some chance
POPS in for these periods attm. Temperatures may be marginally cold
enough for some -SW for the southern Poconos and north NJ for the
overnight periods.
The other period where precipitation could occur will be later
Thursday into Friday. We will continue with mostly chance pops in
the grids for now, but overall confid in this is not great. There
seems to be more spread in the model solutions at this time range.
The latest GFS has some QPF of our southern areas while the CMC
seems to have lost any system in this time frame (a big change from
the earlier run which had a decent shield of QPF for the area). The
GFS is hinting at another coastal system next weekend too, but again
there is not much confid in this attm.

.AVIATION /08Z SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
The following discussion is for KPHL, KPNE, KTTN, KABE, KRDG, KILG,
KMIV, KACY and surrounding areas.
Today...MVFR/IFR conditions at KRDG, KABE, KTTN, KPNE, KPHL and KILG
this morning, improving to VFR for this afternoon. A chance of
showers. Mainly VFR conditions at KMIV and KACY. Southeast to south
wind 5 to 10 knots. Medium confidence.
Tonight...VFR ceilings with a chance of showers. Variable wind 5
knots or less. Medium confidence.
Outlook...
Sunday thru Tuesday...Mostly VFR.
Tue night...Lower CIGS/VSBYS possible with showers.
Wed...VFR expected.

.MARINE...
Wind speeds continue to diminish, so we will be lowering the Gale
Warning for the waters off the northern and central coasts of New
Jersey to a Small Craft Advisory.
The wind on our ocean waters is forecast to settle into a southerly
direction for today and tonight. While there will be some lingering
25+ knot gusts early this morning, speeds are forecast to be mainly
10 to 15 knots with gusts up to 20 knots for today and tonight. Seas
will remain rough. They should be 6 to 10 feet this morning,
subsiding to 5 to 6 feet for tonight. Due to the expected waves, a
Small Craft Advisory is in effect for today and tonight for our
ocean waters.
Wind speeds and wave heights will remain below the Small Craft
Advisory criteria for today and tonight on Delaware Bay, with one
exception. The waves on far lower Delaware Bay will likely remain
around 5 to 6 feet this morning. As a result, we will keep a Small
Craft Advisory in effect for lower Delaware Bay until noon.
Outlook...
SCA conditions on the ocean will continue Sunday and possibly
into early Sunday night. Fair weather. After that, sub-SCA
conditions much of the upcoming week. Showers possible Tue
night.

.TIDES/COASTAL FLOODING...
Some adjustments to the coastal flood flags was required after
running the latest TWL fcsts. Water levels will probably remain
high enough during the next tide cycles to keep the Coastal
Warning for the tidal Delaware, the back bays of Ocean and SE
Burlington County and the eastern shore of the Chesapeake. Water
levels will relax across Delaware Bay and the coastal DE waters
and much of srn NJ waters so advisory levels will occur there.
