The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has extended the

* Flood Advisory for...
  Northern Morris County in northern New Jersey...
  Sussex County in northwestern New Jersey...
  Warren County in northwestern New Jersey...

* Until 1100 PM EDT.

* At 848 PM EDT, Doppler radar continues to indicate moderate to 
  heavy rain moving through Northern New Jersey. Minor flooding is 
  ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Easton, Newton, Hopatcong, Lincoln Park, Kinnelon, Hackettstown, 
  Boonton, Butler, Wharton, Washington, Rockaway, and Blairstown.

This includes the following highways...
	Interstate 78 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 6.
	Interstate 80 in New Jersey between mile markers 1 and 3...and
	between mile markers 5 and 24...and
	between mile markers 33 and 38.
	Interstate 287 in New Jersey between mile markers 46 and 53.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are 
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded 
roads. Find an alternate route.

.SYNOPSIS...
Tropical Storm Henri will remain across southern New England
through Monday, before shifting offshore Monday night into
Tuesday morning. A surface trough will likely develop across the
northeast and Mid Atlantic states Tuesday and remain near the
area through Thursday. A cold front is forecast to move across
the area Thursday night into Friday and stall near the Mid
Atlantic region over the weekend.

&&

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM MONDAY MORNING/...
As of mid afternoon, a weakening Tropical Storm Henri continues
to slowly churn through Connecticut. Meanwhile, an upper level
low remains centered near Delmarva. The upshot of all this is
that last night's band of heavy rain has moved north while
weakening and pivoting into a more west-east oriented axis over
NE PA into northern NJ. Farther south we actually had some
clearing and resulting instability causing some strong and heavy
pop up showers/storms over portions of Delmarva. This has been
associated more with the upper level low. So a lot going on! But
the upshot is no changes to the Flood Watch at this time. Flood
threat tonight should become focused mainly over NE PA into
northern NJ where the heaviest additional rain amounts are
expected but still a chance for more localized hydro issues into
this evening even over SE PA into Delmarva due to threat of pop
up storms in the very moist environment. This is all detailed
further in the hydro section below.

Going into tonight, Henri will continue to weaken while being
pulled W/NW due to the circulation around the upper low. This
will result in bands of heavier rain pivoting back into the
region merging with the rain band discussed above. Heaviest rain
tonight should be north of the I-78 corridor where another 2-4+
inches is expected but there will still be more rain farther
south as the precip wraps around by later tonight...likely even
getting back down into SE PA into southern NJ. With all the
tropical moisture it will be a muggy night with lows mostly in
the upper 60s to low 70s.

&&

.SHORT TERM /6 AM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT/...
Monday...Henri or its remnants will continue to slowly drift
over eastern NY State into New England. By this time the storm
looks to actually have absorbed the upper level low initially to
our south. Moisture will continue to wrap around the
circulation into the mid Atlantic as it gradually rains itself
out. This will lead to continuing rain/showers with embedded
storms in the area, generally heaviest and most widespread over
eastern PA into central and northern NJ. Generally rain rates
should be less than tonight but given that PWATs will still be
close to 2 inches embedded heavy downpours will still be
possible that could keep hydro issues going in places. The
system finally pulls away Monday night with precip ending and
skies clearing. It remains muggy through the period with highs
Monday mostly in the low to mid 80s and lows Monday night mainly
in the upper 60s to low 70s once again.

.LONG TERM /TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...
The initial concern with the long term period continues to be
the return of hot and humid conditions for the middle of the
week for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and possibly into
Friday. A thermal/lee-side trough is forecast to develop on
Tuesday and remain in place through Thursday. Meanwhile, a mid-
level trough will flatten out Tuesday, with nearly zonal flow
across the area Wednesday and Thursday as ridging builds to our
south. This will allow thicknesses to build for the middle to
end of the week. Temperatures are forecast to reach the upper
80s-low 90s for many areas, and with the increase in humidity,
it is possible some areas may approach Heat Advisory criteria.
While organized rainfall and thunderstorms are not expected,
there will be a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms for
Tuesday and Wednesday. However, as we move into Thursday, a
stronger short wave/vorticity impulse may affect the area ahead
of the approaching cold front and could interact with the
surface trough in place and lead to a higher chance of showers.

A cold front is forecast to move across the Mid Atlantic region
Thursday night into Friday, before stalling near or just south
of our area over the weekend. Friday is expected to be the last
day of the hot and humid conditions for next week, before
slightly cooler and slightly less humid conditions return for
the weekend. Due to the proximity of the frontal boundary and
several potential short wave/vorticity impulses, there will
remain a chance of showers and thunderstorms through the
weekend.

.AVIATION /20Z SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/...
The following discussion is for KPHL, KPNE, KTTN, KABE, KRDG,
KILG, KMIV, KACY and surrounding areas.

Rest of Today...Periods of showers will continue to affect the
TAf sites through the rest of the afternoon. Conditions will
vary between VFR and MVFR at times. The showers may briefly
taper off from Wilmington-Philadelphia-Trenton southward late
this afternoon into this evening, with a possible improvement to
VFR for some locations, while a steadier rain continues for
portions of northeast Pennsylvania and northern New Jersey.
There will remain a slight chance of thunderstorms, but are not
included in the TAF due to low confidence.Winds will remain
mostly west to northwest 5-10 knots, with an occasional gust
around 15 knots. Moderate confidence in overall forecast, lower
confidence in flight categories.

Tonight...Steady rainfall across northeast Pennsylvania and
northern New Jersey will shift southward then eastward and
affect all TAF sites late this evening and overnight. As the
rain moves across the area, conditions will lower to MVFR, and
IFR for some locations. There will remain a slight chance of
thunderstorms, but are not included in the TAF due to low
confidence. Winds will shift to west to southwest 5-10 knots or
less. Moderate confidence.

Monday...MVFR/IFR conditions will continue through the morning
hours as the steady rainfall becomes more showery in nature by
late morning. Conditions may improve to VFR as showers begin to
taper off through the afternoon. There will remain a slight
chance of thunderstorms, but are not included in the TAF due to
low confidence. Winds will be mostly southwest 5-10 knots, with
an occasional gust around 15 knots. Moderate confidence.

Monday night...VFR conditions are expected. West to northwest
winds 5 knots or less.

Outlook...

Tuesday-Tuesday night...Generally VFR conditions. Localized
patchy fog at night. Winds will vary between southwest to
northwest 5-10 knots during the day, then become light and
variable overnight.

Wednesday-Wednesday night...Generally VFR conditions. Localized
patchy fog at night. Winds will vary between south to southwest
5-10 knots during the day, then become light and variable
overnight.

Thursday-Thursday night...Generally VFR conditions. A chance of
isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms which could
temporarily lead to lower conditions. Localized patchy fog at
night. Winds will vary between south to southwest 5-10 knots
during the day, then become light and variable overnight.

Friday-Friday night...Generally VFR conditions. A chance of
isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms which could
temporarily lead to lower conditions. Localized patchy fog at
night. Winds will vary between west to northwest 5-10 knots
during the day, then become northeast and light and variable
overnight.

.MARINE...
A Small Craft Advisory is in effect for the ocean waters, with
conditions forecast to remain below advisory levels on the
Delaware Bay. Expect wind gusts largely in the 20-25 kt range
over most of the ocean waters, with seas 3 to 6 feet. Winds and
Seas could drop below SCA criteria tonight from south to north,
but some lingering gusts will be possible, particularly over the
northern waters.

For Monday, it's possible seas could approach 5 feet again by
late in the day due to a persistent southerly fetch but
otherwise conditions should be sub-SCA.

Outlook...

Tuesday-Friday...Conditions are expected to remain below Small
Craft Advisory levels through the period.

Rip Currents...

Long period southeasterly swells continue on the coastal waters
of New Jersey and Delaware due to Henri. Thus there is a High
Risk of dangerous, life-threatening rip currents on Sunday.
Entering the surf zone is strongly discouraged this weekend.

Medium period southeasterly swells combined with elevated seas
is expected to result in a High Risk of rip currents is expected
again on Monday for much of the New Jersey beaches with a
moderate risk expected for the Delaware Beaches. Conditions
should generally improve into next week as the storm weakens and
moves into the Gulf of Maine.

.HYDROLOGY...
As of mid afternoon, we have several river points in flood
stage across central NJ in Middlesex, Mercer, and Somerset
Counties with Griggstown actually going into major flood stage.
Much of this area has received 3 to 6+ inches of rain since last
night. The good news is that the heaviest band of rain has
shifted north at this time. However as we go into tonight,
additional bands of moderate to heavy rain are expected to wrap
back in from the north around a weakening Henri with the
heaviest targeting mainly areas north of the I-78 corridor where
2 to 4+ inches is likely. However the same areas mentioned
above farther south are still likely to get another 1 to 2
inches of rain which may only exacerbate issues there. Bands of
moderate to heavy may even wrap back into SE PA at times
tonight. In addition, there has been some pop up convection over
SE PA and Delmarva that has produced locally heavy rain. For
these reasons, no changes to the Flood Watch at this time.
However the greatest threat for additional hydro issues will be
central and northern NJ into NE PA with the threat farther south
more localized and dependent on convection through early this
evening.

.TIDES/COASTAL FLOODING...
Some spotty minor coastal flooding is possible across portions
of the Atlantic coastline with this evening's high tide,
especially for the Cape May County area where more widespread
minor flooding is probable. We have issued a Coastal Flood
Advisory for this evening's high tide to highlight this threat.
No additional coastal flooding issues are anticipated beyond
tonight's high tide.
