afternoon to a crest of 20.1 feet just after midnight tonight. It

* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late
this evening to a crest of 15.8 feet tomorrow morning. It will
then fall below flood stage tomorrow evening.
* Impact...At 12.0 feet, Flooding begins in the vicinity of Yough
Park.
* Impact...At 14.0 feet, Several inches of water floods basements of
about 30 homes along left bank. River is bankful along the left
bank just downstream from the Crawford Street Bridge. Water
reaches the level of the Hurricane Ivan flood of September 18,
2004.
* Impact...At 14.1 feet, Water reaches level of March 3, 2015.

Cool and dry air will flow over the region later today as the remnant
of the tropical system exits.

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/...
Latest update was for ewd shifting heavy rainfall and the dropping of
the FFA for part of E.C. OH and the nrn WV Panhandle. The trend will
continue as the upr trough axis and Ida remnant continue to dvlp the
moisture convergence areas east of the ridges. In the meantime, the
primary flood threat is east of the PA wrn border and generally east
of Pittsburgh. Expect an additional 0.5 to 1 inches in those areas.

.SHORT TERM /6 PM THIS EVENING THROUGH FRIDAY/...
Significantly cooler and drier air will filter in behind the remnant
as a rather amplified trough-ridge-trough longwave pattern develops
across the mid-latitudes of North America and strong high pressure
builds across the Great Lakes. This pattern will provide a dry and
comfortable end to the week.

.LONG TERM /FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY/...
The longwave pattern is projected to dampen, with the Pittsburgh
forecast area placed in general WNW flow aloft. Expect dry and cool
weather with exception for a shortwave passage forecast for Sunday
