The National Weather Service in Lubbock has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Eastern Garza County in northwestern Texas...
  Western Kent County in northwestern Texas...

* Until 1030 AM CDT.

* At 827 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated a 
  broad area of rain with embedded thunderstorms producing 
  torrential rain across east and southeast of Post. Between 2 and 4 
  inches of rain have fallen. Lake Alan Henry and Justiceburg have 
  both received just over 3 inches of rain through 820 AM.  
  Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the 
  warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin 
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, and streets as well as other poor
           drainage and low-lying areas.

MORNING FOR EASTERN GARZA AND WESTERN KENT COUNTIES...

At 905 AM CDT, Doppler radar showed continued movement of 
thunderstorms producing very heavy rain over eastern Garza and 
western Kent Counties.  Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. 
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the 
warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring on highway 84 
southeast of Post.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

MORNING FOR EASTERN GARZA AND WESTERN KENT COUNTIES...

At 942 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated the strongest storms were 
over eastern Garza and western Kent Counties generally to the east 
of US highway 84. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. 
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the 
warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Highway 380 east of Post and Lake Alan Henry.

Flash Flooding along highway 380 east of Post is likely.  The 
heaviest rain had generally moved east of US 84 from Post down 
through Justiceburg, so flooding concerns there may be lessening.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are 
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded 
roads. Find an alternate route.
