IFR ceilings & MVFR visibilities to prevail this morning and early
afternoon. Radar showing increasing coverage of SHRA across C and
SW LA this morning. Chances of SHRA will increase later this
morning, with VCTS by late morning into the early afternoon with
the passage of the broad sfc trough. South to south-south west
winds will gradually become southwest to northwest later this
morning into the afternoon. Expect winds ahead and behind the low
around 12-15 kts with gusts of 25 kts. Within the sfc trough,
expect winds less than 10 kts. Expect improving visibilities &
ceilings to VFR by 18-22z.

DISCUSSION...
Little to no shower activity in the area this morning. The cold
is quickly moving moving northeast through east Texas. As it moves
closer to our area, further weakening is expected. Fortunately, strong
capping over SETX could prevent us from seeing the worse of the
storms.
Skies will clear out quickly this evening and into tonight
allowing for temperatures to drop into the lower to mid 50s.
However, temperatures tomorrow will sharply climb into 80s
tomorrow afternoon. Lows will return to the mid 60s tomorrow night
while similar daytime temperatures in the 80s can be expected for
Saturday.
Late this weekend, models are in better agreement regarding a cold
front set to move into the area. This will be our next shot of
showers and thunderstorms, with POPs being introduced back into
the forecast late Saturday. There is a marginal and slight risk
that sit well north and northeast of our area, with our CWA only
being in a general thunderstorm outlook for the time. The front
will linger in the area until pushing through late Sunday into
Monday.
Early next week, the models are not in agreement with the timing
and location of the next disturbance set to move into the area.
The GFS progresses an upper level low eastward across the southern
states while the EURO pushes it north into the Midwestern states.
Mid to late next week, the models align again, sweeping another
frontal boundary through for a wet start to April.
