flooding begins past the Santa Fe River sink in the park and will
cut-off access road to south end of the park.

.UPDATE...
Overall Forecast remains on track this evening. Have extended the
Flood Watch until 5 AM as moderate showers continue moving towards
the I-75 corridor from the Gulf of Mexico while coastal convergence
from the inverted trough over the coastal waters focuses some new
showers along the NE FL coast. Coastal showers will continue to
move onshore into the SE GA coast with inland activity eventually
winding down late tonight and another inch or so of rain may fall
in the watch area. Low stratus and patchy fog is expected west of
I-95 with mostly cloudy skies and lows in the low to mid 70s.
Another wet day is in store Monday due to the lingering tropical
moisture over the region, but the heaviest rainfall will be along
the coast of NE FL and SE GA as convergent showers move onshore from
the influence of the inverted trough while high pressure over New
England wedges down the east coast. Highs will be seasonal in the
mid 80s for most locations.

.PREV DISCUSSION [744 PM EDT]...
.NEAR TERM [Through Tonight]...
High pressure ridge extending from New England to Georgia will
keep weak east-northeast low level flow. Deep tropical moisture
remains over the area with PWATs between 2 to 2.5 inches. Scattered
to widespread showers and isolated thunderstorms continue to move
slowly across the area. Juicy PWATs, boundary collisions,
saturated soils, and slow storm motion will lead to a flooding
potential especially along the I-75 corridor. A Flood Watch is in
effect for this area into this evening. Shower coverage decreases
tonight with the loss of heating but a coastal trough will bring
some showers onshore along the northeast Florida and southeast
Georgia coast. Patchy late night fog will be possible for inland
areas. Lows tonight will be in the low to mid 70s.
.SHORT TERM [Monday Through Tuesday]...
Strong high pressure over New England extending down the eastern
seaboard will shift to the northeast through Tuesday. Coastal
troughing may produce bands of heavy rainfall especially along
the southeast Georgia coast due to onshore flow and low-level
convergence. Deep tropical moisture (PWATs > 2 inches) will
continue to reside across the area resulting in numerous to
widespread showers/storms mainly during the afternoon/evening
hours. Deep moisture and weak steering winds will continue the
chance for localized flooding. High temperatures will be in the
low to mid 80s and lows in the low to mid 70s.
.LONG TERM [Wednesday Through Saturday]...
An upper trough and cold front moving into the southeastern CONUS
will develop west-southwesterly flow maintaining the deep tropical
moisture over the area on Wednesday. Scattered to numerous
showers/storms develop on Wednesday with the continued threat of
heavy rainfall and localized flooding due to PWATs near 2 inches
and a slow storm motion. The wet pattern comes to an end as a cold
front pushes through the area Wednesday night into Thursday. High
pressure and a cooler, drier airmass build into the region for
the end of the week. Dry conditions are anticipated across inland
southeast Georgia. Coastal convergence and low level moisture
behind the front will produce a chance for mainly coastal showers
near the northeast Florida coast. Temperatures will dip below
normal with inland lows falling into the upper 50s to low/mid 60s.
.AVIATION...
[Through 00Z Tuesday]
The 00Z TAF period will continue showers over the terminals through
06Z with MVFR ceilings at KSGJ and KVQQ and VFR scattered to broken
ceilings around 1.5 to 2.0 kft at other terminals. An east to west
trough over northeast FL from Gainesville to St Augustine will allow
some showers to persist overnight at the coast near the coastal
and duval TAF sites. Today's heavy rain inland combined with calm
winds will lead to lower inland ceilings and bring MVFR and IFR
conditions to the inland sites KGNV and KVQQ with possible LIFR
ceilings at KGNV after 09Z that may settle to the ground to
produce IFR to LIFR fog levels until around 12Z. Light southerly
winds around 5 knots will resume after 14Z with showers and storms
forming after 16Z at the coast and moving inland along the
Atlantic seabreeze around 18Z-20Z. Have PROB30 groups for storms
that could bring MVFR ceilings due to heavy downpours after 18Z
from as a coastal trough and deep tropical moisture help deliver
another wet afternoon across the regional terminals.
.MARINE...
High pressure wedging down the eastern seaboard will continue a
coastal trough over the area. Abundant tropical moisture and the
trough will continue to enhance daily shower and thunderstorm
chances across the area waters through Wednesday. A cold front
will then enter the southeastern states towards midweek, passing
through our waters late Wednesday night, followed by increased
north winds on Thursday.
Rip Currents: Moderate risk of rip currents will continue through
Monday due to onshore flow and easterly swells.
.HYDROLOGY...
Locally heavy rainfall and localized flooding will be possible
over the next couple of days with WPC a showing marginal risk of
excessive rainfall across the area. Estimated rainfall amounts
into Monday are around 1-2 inches, with locally higher totals
possible. With already saturated soils and recent heavy rainfall,
a Flood Watch is in effect through tonight for counties along the
I-75 corridor.
Minor flooding is either occurring or forecasted along much of
the Santa Fe river. Runoff from recent convection could also
exacerbate ongoing river flooding along the Santa Fe River.
