The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Harvey County in south central Kansas...

* Until 700 AM CDT Saturday.

* At 1025 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain 
  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are 
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected 
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Newton, Hesston, Halstead, North Newton, Burrton, Walton and 
  Newton Airport.

This includes the following highways...
	Interstate 135 between mile markers 28 and 42.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two 
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't 
drown.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM CDT SATURDAY FOR 
HARVEY COUNTY...

At 1132 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported widespread street 
flooding in the Newton area, with several stalled vehicles reported. 
Thunderstorms are moving out of the warned area, but flooding will 
likely continue through the night.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
         flash flooding.

SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
         urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
