The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southern Marion County in central Kansas...

* Until 245 AM CDT.

* At 845 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms 
  producing heavy rain across southern Marion County, including 
  Goessel, Peabody, Marion, and Florence. Between 3 and 6 inches of 
  rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 
  hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in 
  the warned area with new thunderstorms developing over the area. 
  Flash flooding is already occurring, with new flooding likely.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Hillsboro, Marion, Peabody, Florence, Goessel, Burns, Lehigh and 
  Marion Lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

FOR SOUTHERN MARION COUNTY...

At 1155 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported widespread flooding 
across southern Marion County, including numerous roads flooded, 
stalled cars, a couple of water rescues, and water entering some 
homes and businesses. Between 4 and 8 inches of rain have fallen. 
Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
         flash flooding.
