The National Weather Service in League City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southeastern Jackson County in south central Texas...
  Southwestern Matagorda County in southeastern Texas...

* Until 330 AM CDT.

* At 1221 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain 
  have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin 
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Doppler radar.

  IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
           drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Palacios, La Ward, Lolita and Vanderbilt.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the 
warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

FOR SOUTHEASTERN JACKSON AND SOUTHWESTERN MATAGORDA COUNTIES...

A new round of thunderstorms is entering the area from the west, and 
impacting a larger area than this flash flood warning. A new flash 
flood warning has been issued to handle this larger threat area.

A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 700 AM CDT Thursday for 
portions of south central Texas and southeast Texas.
