* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Austin County in southeastern Texas...
  Southeastern Burleson County in southeastern Texas...
  Colorado County in southeastern Texas...
  Western Waller County in southeastern Texas...
  Washington County in southeastern Texas...
  Central Wharton County in southeastern Texas...

* Until 1045 PM CDT.

* At 852 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain 
  have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin 
  shortly. The Colorado County sheriff's office reported high water 
  on roads in Weimer and Columbus with a few roads impassable due to 
  high water.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Doppler radar.

  IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
           drainage and low lying areas.

  Brenham, Sealy, Hempstead, Prairie View, Bellville, Columbus, 
  Eagle Lake, Washington, Shelby, Weimar, Somerville, Pine Island, 
  San Felipe, Industry, Burton, Cat Spring, New Ulm, Frelsburg, 
  Altair and Rock Island.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. 
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately. 
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate 
precautions to protect life and property.

AUSTIN, SOUTHEASTERN BURLESON, COLORADO, WESTERN WALLER, WASHINGTON 
AND CENTRAL WHARTON COUNTIES...

The heavy rain has ended. Flooding is no longer expected to be 
capable of producing flash flooding. This warning will be replaced 
by a flood warning for water that may still be causing impassable 
roads. Please continue to heed remaining road closures.

A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 700 AM CDT Thursday for 
portions of south central Texas and southeast Texas.
