This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northeast Georgia, Piedmont
North Carolina,and Upstate South Carolina.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.

The remnants of tropical cyclone Ida will continue to push into the
region through tonight. Periods of heavy rain with isolated flooding
and breezy southerly winds will develop this afternoon and continue
into tonight. Isolated severe thunderstorms, with a weak and brief
tornado or two, will be possible, mainly late this afternoon and this
evening.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

The remnants of Ida will depart to the east with periods of heavy
rain and associated isolated flood threat gradually coming to an
end.

...Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of Franklin, Stephens,
western Elbert, Habersham, southwestern Rabun and Hart Counties
through 200 PM EDT...

At 124 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 5 miles east of Cleveland to 7 miles east of
Homer to 7 miles west of Elberton. Movement was north at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Toccoa, Hartwell, Clarkesville, Carnesville, Elberton, Cornelia,
Baldwin, Royston, Lavonia and Gumlog.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded

a line extending from 8 miles southeast of Andrews to 4 miles west of
Walhalla to 8 miles west of Anderson. Movement was north at 50 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.
