...The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg SC has 
issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in North Carolina...

  French Broad River Near Hot Springs affecting Madison County.

.Storm-total rainfall accumulations of 3-5" over Madison County
resulted in flash flooding and significant rises along Ivy Creek and 
the lower French Broad River from Marshall to Hot Springs.  The 
floodwave is producing Minor to Moderate flooding along the lower 
French Broad River.  This will produce scattered to extensive 
flooding of low-lying areas, low-water crossings, campgrounds, 
parks, and boat-access areas.  Expect some structural flooding 
closer to Marshall including around Blannahassett Island.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 
cars through flooded areas.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* Flood Warning for
  the French Broad River Near Hot Springs.
* From this evening to early Friday morning.
* At 10:45 PM EDT Tuesday the stage was 10.5 feet and rising slowly.
* Minor Flood Stage is 9.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest between 11 and 
  12 feet by Wednesday morning. It will then fall below Minor Flood 
  Stage by Thursday afternoon.
* Impact...At 9.5 feet, Parts of Silver Mine Road and River Road may 
  begin to flood. Areas near Spring Creek in the Hot Springs Spa 
  area will begin to flood.
* Impact...At 10.0 feet, Floodwaters will approach Hot Springs Spa 
  property and parts of River Road and Silvermine Road will flood. 
  Floodwater levels will be similar to levels observed on May 6, 
  2003.
* Impact...At 12.5 feet, Water may approach camping areas between 
  South Andrews Aveune and the river.

Carolina...

  French Broad River Near Hot Springs affecting Madison County.

.Storm-total rainfall accumulations of 3-5" over Madison County

the lower French Broad River from Marshall to Hot Springs.  The 
floodwave has peaked and the French Broad River is now receding, but 
it remains above critical levels and nuisance to Minor flooding is 
ongoing.  These river levels are producing isolated to scattered 
flooding of low-lying areas including low-water crossings, 
campgrounds, parks, and boat-access areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 
cars through flooded areas.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
