...AN AREA OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT SOUTHERN LIVINGSTON
AND NORTHERN ALLEGANY COUNTIES...
At 500 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were developing over southern
Livingston county and northern Allegany county. These slow moving,
heavy rain producing storms were generally moving to the southwest
at 15 mph.
Winds in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail will be possible with
these storms.
Locations impacted include...
Dansville, Letchworth State Park, Alfred, Belfast, Houghton,
Groveland, Caneadea, Nunda, Belmont, Angelica, Ossian, Canaseraga,
Almond, West Almond, Birdsall, Short Tract, Ossian Center, Swain,
Hunt and Rossburg.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 390 between exits 4 and 6.
Interstate 86 between exits 30 and 33.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this activity, and may cause
localized flooding. Some locations will pick up one to two inches of
rain in under an hours time. Do not drive your vehicle through
flooded roadways.
