The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Isle of Wight County in southeastern Virginia...

* Until 1015 PM EDT.

* At 716 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 
  1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen in the past 30 to 40 
  minutes. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 45 
  minutes. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Smithfield, Suffolk, Isle Of Wight, Rescue, Zuni, Bethel Church, 
  Central Hill, Lawson, Comet, Benns Church, Whitley, Raynor and 
  Carrollton.
