Lake and inland Volusia Counties and Frigid Wind Chills Tonight...
...Very Hazardous Boating and Beach Conditions to Continue Through
Wednesday...

.UPDATE...Potent mid level shortwave trough will swing southeast
from the southeast Atlantic coast and induce low pressure
development offshore from east central Florida overnight. A
tightening pressure gradient is forecast on the back side of the low
which will bring windy conditions to the coast and usher in a fetch
of colder air into central Florida through the late night hours.
Forecast updates include transitioning the Beach Hazards Statement
to High Surf Advisory and also raised a Wind Advisory for coastal
areas through 10 am Wednesday morning. The tight pressure gradient
across the Atlantic will support winds along the immediate coast to
20-25 mph with gusts to 35 to 40 mph along the beaches tonight. A
Freeze Warning continues for Lake and interior Volusia county. Low
temps will range from near freezing for inland Volusia and Lake
counties to mid 30s for metro Orlando and lower 40s from the Cape
south along the coast. Wind chills will drop into the 20s for the
interior and Volusia county and in the lower 30s from Melbourne
south along the coast. A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect for all of
east central FL tonight.

.AVIATION...
Mainly VFR. Winds will continue strong for cstl terminals overnight
with sustained winds 16-20 knots with gusts to 25-30 knots. Breezy
conditions will continue into Wednesday with marine stratocu and
isolated to scattered onshore moving showers potentially producing
MVFR conditions, mainly along coastal TAF sites tomorrow afternoon.

.MARINE...
Extremely hazardous marine conditions expected tonight into
Wednesday with NNW winds currently at Buoy 41009 at 31 knots gusting
to 41 knots with 10-12 ft seas. The pressure gradient is forecast to
tighten further late tonight with winds increasing near 35 knots
with gusts to 45 knots. A Gale Warning continues in effect. Small
craft operators should not venture into these hazardous wind and sea

near 30 degrees overnight, and a Freeze Warning has been issued for
these areas. Normally colder, wind-sheltered areas across the
interior may also fall to near freezing overnight. In addition, the
combination of cold temperatures with northerly winds of 15 to 20
mph across the interior and 20 to 25 mph along the coast, with
higher gusts, will produce wind chill readings between 21 and 34
degrees from late this evening continuing through 9 AM Wednesday
morning across all of east central Florida. The coldest wind chill
readings will be inland from the coast. If you will be outdoors
during that time, be sure to dress appropriately for the cold
weather.

.WIND AND SEA IMPACT...
Expect north-northwest winds 25 to 30 knots with frequent gusts up
to 40 to 45 knots tonight. These winds will allow seas to gradually
build to 10 to 16 feet through late tonight. A Gale Warning is in
effect for all marine legs.

.COASTAL FLOOD IMPACT...
A High Surf Advisory is in effect, as open Atlantic sea heights
gradually build to around 16 feet and produce large breaking waves
of 7 to 9 feet in the surf zone and with wave runup to the dunes at
some beaches very late overnight. Minor erosion can be expected near
the early Wednesday morning and again during Wednesday evening high
tides. The next high tide cycles along the east central Florida
coast will be from 550 AM to 620 AM Wednesday morning and again 600
PM to 630 PM Wednesday evening.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY.
Boating and beach conditions will stay dangerous for most of the
week and into the weekend. Venturing into the surf is not
recommended on Wednesday.
