...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THURSDAY...
...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves will
  build to 7 to 9 feet in the surf zone today. The pounding surf
  can knock you down. Swimmers should remain out of the water due
  to the high and dangerous surf. Large swells will continue to
  impact the beaches into Thursday. For the High Rip Current Risk,
  dangerous rip currents, especially near low spots and 
  structures such as jetties and piers, are expected.

* WHERE...central Florida Atlantic beaches, from Volusia County to
  Martin County.

* WHEN...High Surf Advisory, until 7 PM EST Thursday. For the 
  High Rip Current Risk, through this evening.

* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and
  localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best
  swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The next high tide cycles along the east
  central Florida coast will occur between 500 AM and 700 AM and
  500 PM and 700 PM.

 Strong rip currents will be present in the surf zone today, with
 the highest threat between 1100 AM and 100 PM due to tidal 
 effects.
  
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

High surf will affect the beaches in the advisory area, producing
localized beach erosion and dangerous swimming conditions.
Swimmers should remain out of the water due to large breaking
waves and dangerous surf conditions.

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and 
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a 
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the 
shore and call or wave for help.
