There will be a moderate risk of rip currents at area beaches today. The threat will be highest through 10 AM and then again from 4 PM through early evening, due to tidal effects. Swim within sight of a lifeguard. If no lifeguard is present, think twice before entering the surf. .WIND AND SEA IMPACT... Northeast winds of 15 to 20 knots and seas 4 to 5 feet will create poor boating conditions today south of Sebastian Inlet. Small craft should exercise caution in these areas, across both nearshore and offshore zones. .FIRE WEATHER IMPACT... The combination of low relative humidities, breezy winds, and dry vegetation will create high fire weather danger across the interior today. Red Flag Warnings have been posted for Lake, Orange, Seminole, and inland Volusia Counties between 2 and 6 PM this afternoon. The threat for fire growth and spread is high today. Use extreme caution with any outdoor fires and obey any burn bans that are in effect for your area. Be sure not to carelessly discard cigarette butts outdoors. Dispose of them in an appropriate receptacle. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY. Continuing breezy onshore winds and building swell will cause boating conditions to remain poor at times through midweek. Then, conditions will become hazardous overnight Wednesday, as swell builds further through the end of the week. Surf will also become rough over the next several days, creating dangerous swimming conditions at area beaches, with localized beach erosion possible. There will be an increasing chance for thunderstorms Thursday into the weekend. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed today and tonight. Leahy
