...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CDT FOR
SOUTHWESTERN ST. HELENA AND NORTH CENTRAL LIVINGSTON PARISHES...
    
At 1133 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located near Montpelier, or 12 miles southwest of Amite, moving
northwest at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage 
         to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is 
         likely.

This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
southwestern St. Helena and north central Livingston Parishes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile
home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and
protect yourself from flying debris.

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer appears capable of producing a tornado.
Therefore, the warning has been cancelled.  However gusty winds are
still possible with this tropical shower.

...A SQUALL LINE OF TROPICAL SHOWERS WILL AFFECT TERREBONNE PARISH...

At 931 AM CDT, radar indicated tropical showers were located along a
line extending from 37 miles south of Ellerslie to 18 miles
southeast of Burns Point to 24 miles south of Cocodrie. Movement was
northwest at 65 mph.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph are possible with these showers.

Locations impacted include...
Dulac, Montegut, Chauvin, Cocodrie, Tambour Bay Buoy and Lumcon
Center Buoy.

Torrential rainfall and tropical funnels will also be possible with
this squall band.
