.SYNOPSIS...
A warm and humid airmass will persist into the weekend bringing
above normal temperatures and scattered afternoon thunderstorms
each day. Tropical Storm Isaias will approach the area on
Monday bringing widespread wind and rain; specific impacts
remain uncertain. Conditions should return to a typical
summertime pattern the the middle of next week.

&&

.UPDATE...
Convective showers and t-storms are diminishing in number, but
it appears scattered activity will continue into the evening
hours. High-res models suggest maintaining 20-50 percent PoPs
through late evening, with convection finally ending by midnight
as the boundary layer stabilizes. Other changes with this
forecast update include raising overnight forecast lows by 1-2
degrees due to breezy boundary layer winds.

&&

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT/...
Remainder of today, scattered convection to track ENE across the
forecast area, mostly the interior, with diminishing trends expected
after 1z-2z/9pm-10pm. The balminess of 500 mb temperatures will
limit severity of storms, but an uptick in precipitable waters may
allow high, yet brief rain-rates, capable of producing highway
ponding and dangerous hydro-planing. The boundary layer wind should
hold off fog and mist tonight, but low-based stratus is possible
late, as boundary layer RH approaches 90 percent after 8z/3am.

Convection is expected Friday, but isolated to scattered, with more
heat. Latest population of T/Td data shows a 'heat advisory' may be
needed for portions of the area Friday afternoon, as HI values reach
near 105 degrees. The more robust storms tomorrow should reside N
and S of the area, as we become located between a front to the north
and short-wave over Georgia late day Friday.

.SHORT TERM /SATURDAY THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT/...
Hot and humid conditions will continue on Saturday and Sunday with
afternoon storms likely as an upper trough over the central US
provides deep SW flow over the area. With an upper low over the
central US and weak shots of energy traversing the SE, look for a
slightly better coverage of thunderstorms on Sunday. Depending on
the track of Tropical Storm Isaias, we could see some initial
effects from the system on Sunday night in the form of outer bands.
It remains too soon to discuss the potential for specific impacts,
but the track of this tropical system will influence Sunday
evening's forecast.

.LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/...
Monday and Tuesday will depend greatly on the track of Tropical
Storms Isaias. For now, the NHC's official track is just off the
coast of NC. This would bring moderate to heavy rainfall on Monday
morning and afternoon with breezy conditions continuing through
Monday evening; it's still too early to discuss the details of any
potential impacts. A few isolated thunderstorms may continue Monday
evening and early Tuesday as the system races off to the NE. Other
models have a much weaker system making its way into the Carolinas
on Tuesday illustrating that uncertainty remains high. Overall,
high confidence in the upper-level pattern developing into a
persistent trough over the central and eastern portion of the
CONUS by Wednesday. This will lead to elevated rain chances
during the afternoon and temperatures at or slightly below
normal into the middle of next week.

.AVIATION /00Z FRIDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...
Convective showers and a few thunderstorms may linger through
the evening hours in a breezy southwest low-level flow. The best
potential for convective impacts on airports will include KCRE
(North Myrtle Beach) and KFLO (Florence) where showers have
reasonably high chances to occur at or just after 00Z. Shower
activity should diminish later this evening with little
potential for fog given breezy low-level winds. Wind speeds
should increase further Friday afternoon as the seabreeze pushes
wind speeds along the coast to near 20 knots.

Extended Outlook...Mainly VFR expected outside of mainly
afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. Tropical Storm
Isaias's forecast track brings the system very near the area
Monday as a hurricane, with potential high impacts on airport
operations.

.MARINE...
A 'small craft advisory' continues. This for 25 kt gusts becoming
more common, through this near term period. SE swell from Isaias
will reach our coast tomorrow, mainly low amplitude fore-runners 1
foot every 16-17 seconds, transitioning to 4 foot SE waves every 13-
14 seconds Friday night. This will elevate sea heights beyond what
just the winds will bring, and marine conditions will become even
more treacherous through Friday, as wind-seas rip across a building
swell train. Isolated TSTMs through the near term period will add to
the perilous marine conditions. The SE swell will also increase
shoaling, likely producing inlet turbulence late Friday, especially
during outgoing tides.

Deep SW flow and an increasing gradient between the Bermuda high,
Tropical Storm Isaias to the south, and weak low pressure to the
west will lead to breezy and hazardous conditions over the coastal
waters on Saturday and Sunday. Waves will be 5-7 feet. Swell from
the tropical system will also combine with the wind waves leading to
hazardous marine conditions and waves 6-10 feet Sunday and Monday.
Tropical conditions are possible on Sunday night into Monday
evening, but uncertainty remains high in regards to the track and
intensity of Isaias at this time. We likely won't see improving
conditions until Tuesday when the tropical system begins moving off
to the NE. Winds return to 10-15 knots out of the SW and waves will
be 3-5 feet by the middle and later portions of next week.
