* Until further notice.
* At 945 AM Friday the stage was 12.5 feet, and falling.
* Minor flooding is occurring, and minor flooding is forecast to 
  continue.
* Flood stage is 12 feet.
* The river will continue to fall to a stage of 12.1 feet by 
  Saturday afternoon.
* Between 12 and 13 feet, minor flooding occurs in the lowlands 
  adjacent to the river and the water level will be around the top of 
  the Abbeville boat ramp and in parts of the nearby park.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Ocmulgee River near Lumber City.
* Until Saturday evening.
* At 945 AM Friday the stage was 15.5 feet, and falling.
* Minor flooding is occurring, and minor flooding is forecast to 
  continue.
* Flood stage is 15 feet.
* The river will continue to fall, dropping below flood stage by 
  Saturday afternoon.
* At 15 to 16 feet, minor flooding occurs in the broad swampy flood 
  plain. Farm fields on the right bank flood and general agriculture 
  and timber interests are affected by the flooding. In addition, 
  water will be around the top of the boat ramp near the Highway 341 
  bridge.

* Minor flooding is occurring, and minor flooding is expected to

* Between 13 and 14 feet, minor flooding occurs in the natural flood 
  plain and woodlands along the creek upstream and downstream from the 
  gage on U.S. Highway 441 or Georgia Highway 29.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Oconee River near Oconee.
* From this evening until Monday morning.
* At 945 AM Friday the stage was 14.8 feet, and rising.
* Minor flooding is forecast to develop.
* Flood stage is 17 feet.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by this evening 
  then continue rising, reaching near 20.1 feet by Saturday afternoon. 
  The river is expected to fall below flood stage by early Monday 
  morning.
* At 14 feet, bankfull conditions occur along the river. The Old Balls 
  Ferry Road boat ramp, just upstream and right bank from the Georgia 
  Highway 57 bridge, will begin to flood. 
  
  At 17 feet, flood stage is reached. The water level reaches the top 
  of the Old Balls Ferry Road boat ramp, just upstream and rightbank 
  from the Georgia Highway 57 bridge. Minor flooding of woodlands near 
  the river occurs.

  At 20 feet, the water level floods parts the dirt parking lot area 
  near the Old Balls Ferry Road boat ramp, just upstream and rightbank 
  from the Georgia Highway 57 bridge. Minor flooding continues and 
  spreads further into the woodlands near the river.

Overall the short term forecast remains in great shape, as winds
are steadily decreasing and low to mid level clouds are
diminishing and will continue through the evening hours. Only
minor adjustments have been made based on the latest observations

SHORT TERM /Tonight through Friday Night/...
No major forecast concerns in the short term period. Widespread,
convective clouds associated with mid-level cold air will
dissipated after sunset with clear skies expected through
Saturday. Another relatively cool day Friday before much warmer
temperatures expected. Ready for a nice break from this active
pattern.

SNELSON

LONG TERM /Saturday through Thursday/...
Medium-range models in fairly good agreement through the extended
forecast period with respect to the large scale pattern, however,
that pattern is a relatively flat and progressive pattern and the
small scale features vary widely, especially for the latter half of
the period as we head into next week. Unfortunately, those smaller
scale features are what will determine the placement and timing of
the sensible weather. For now a general model blend is likely the
best strategy. Went with an NBM initialization resulting in
minimal changes from the previous forecast trends. Period starts
out with the region under weak upper ridging and warm/dry weather
for the weekend. Still looks like chance PoPs work into the far
north by Monday, lingering across the north through Tuesday before
pushing south and east through the rest of the area
Wednesday/Thursday. Models showing sufficient instability for
thunder, but too vague to pinpoint any severe weather focus at
this time.

00Z Update...
VFR conditions are expected to persist through the period, as 5-8kft
clouds continue to dissipate through the evening hours. Clear skies
are then expected throughout the day on Friday. Winds are expected
to be W to NW throughout the period, starting out at 9-12 kts before
decreasing to 4-8 kts overnight. Winds will increase once again to 9-
12 kts with gusts up to 20 kts after 15Z Friday.
