rivers which will cause flooding in some areas.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
All persons with interests along the river should monitor the latest
forecasts...and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect
life and property.

* Flood Warning for
The Oconee River near Milledgeville.
* From this evening until late Friday night.
* At 8 PM Thursday the stage was 23.3 feet, and rising.
* Minor flooding is occurring is forecast to continue.
* Flood stage is 22 feet.
* The river will continue rising to near 25.1 feet by Friday
morning. The river will begin to fall Friday afternoon and fall
below flood stage late Friday evening.
* At 24 feet, minor flooding continues upstream and downstream
from the gage located around one half mile upstream from the
Georgia Highway 22 and 24 bridge. The parking lot and portions of
the Oconee River Greenway Park just downstream from the bridge will
be flooded. Low lying areas of woodlands and pasture near the river
will be flooded one to two feet deep. Sinclair Dam will likely have
two gates open to reach this height.

* Until Saturday evening.
* At 8 PM Thursday the stage was 23.3 feet, and rising.

* The river will continue rising to near 31.4 feet by Friday morning
and begin falling Friday afternoon. The river will fall below flood
stage Saturday early afternoon.
* At 30 feet, Minor flooding continues to expand further into the
woodlands and pasture upstream and downstream from the gage near the
Georgia Highway 22 and 24 bridge. Fishing Creek backs up and a few
buildings along the creek will be flooded. Also Tanyard Branch Stream
between East Thomas and East Charleston Streets in Milledgeville will
flood. Sinclair Dam will likely have four to five gates open to reach
this height.

with around one foot of water. A portion of the sidewalk under
Majors Road is covered with around two feet of water.
