The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Muscogee County in west central Georgia...

* Until 1030 PM EDT.

* At 431 PM EDT, Broadcast media reported very heavy rain and 
  significant flooding. Radar rainfall estimates indicate between 
  1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing 
  or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Public.

  IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
           drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Columbus, Bibb City, Kenwood, Flat Rock, Edgewood, Columbus 
  Metropolitan Airport, Highland Park, Saint Marys Hills, Laurel 
  Hills, Midland, Rose Hill and Avondale.

Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned 
area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small 
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses 
as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
